Castle Ringstead

Overview

Welcome to life after the Planes. While you’ll quickly recognize the pictures, don’t let them fool ya. If you haven’t gotten into the habit of using Consider by this point in your Shilla career, you will pay the price here. You’ll be spending quite a bit of time grinding all the different combinations of all the creatures who call Ringstead home while you work on creating a more powerful, and soulbound, Divinity Bracelet.

Location

Once you have gained access to the Open Air section found above Cafe Au Lait make your way to the coordinates (7,7,1) and then go up once more to find the entrance to Castle Ringstead. Eventually, you’ll unlock a portal on the Goblin Island section of Cafe Au Lait that you can use to teleport to top level, but that is 10 completed quests away.

Suit Macros

This is a newer addition to Shilla, but you can save up to 20 different pairs of suits in the Options Menu. You will save any equipped weapons, armor, and jewelry. Once it is saved, you can just click 'get' and as long as the item(s) are in your current inventory, they will be equipped. If they are not, the current items you are wearing will still be equipped.

The point of mentioning this now is that you will eventually have 5-8 suits going at least. Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Good, Evil, Spirit and some sort of Void/Spirit. Maybe more if you get into more specialized training methods such as tanking(hp/def focus), damage, etc…

You should update your suits as soon as you get updated equipment, and make it a habit the further you get into the game. More wicked areas will come after this one…

Training

Ten creatures call Ringstead home, with the last six grouped in pairs of two. In order of power, with their elemental alignment in parentheses, you will find Fairy Guards (Air), Draconian Guards (Fire), Druid Guards (Earth), Water Guards (Water), Ring Guards (Air), Holy Guards (Fire), Castle Guards (Earth), and Evil Guards (Water), Spirit Guards (Spirit), and Chieftain of the Guards (Neutral). You should start out in the Basement level where all of these creatures can be found in non-elite forms. Once you can 1 round them here, you can one round their elite and beyond counterparts. Beware that elite versions do more damage so you might not be able to survive a hit if they get initiative. Consider, consider, consider. Luckily the non-elites drop elemental resist rings just like their elite counter-parts, so you’ll have help as you work your way up the levels of Ringstead to the where the Grandmasters that reside at the very top. The jump in experience from Non-elite to Grandmaster isn’t astronomical, nor is the quality of rings they drop. My rule of thumb was to be able to survive two initiative hits prior to grinding a creature.

And as a double bonus you should have a solid set of soulbound Void and Spirit resist rings from grinding the Astral planes and will be able to take on the Spirit Guard/Chief of the Guards much more quickly than your predecessors..

So many damn rings…

The whole purpose of Ringstead is to collect the rings you need to forge attributes to a Divinity Bracelet and collect the elemental rings necessary to survive in the Elemental areas that follow. The specifics to the bracelet can be found Here. The basic plan should be pick up everything until you finish a ring level (Dummy, Band, Ring, etc) then you can sell all the extras and store the quadrillions of gold that you’ll have in the bank. I’m not joking about the amount of gold, it’s ginormous. Be careful you don’t sell a ring you might need for future forging, or one that you have soul bound. If you have a stockpile of Sacred Symbols, it's not a bad idea to soul bind your top elemental ring of each element as you find them. At the time of this writing everyone has died at least once while completing the CR grind.

Using the Element Rings Inventory

This room at the northern part of Goblin Island of Cafe Au Lait will show exactly what rings you have in your character’s jewelry inventory. At the bottom of the tables, sorted by ring quality, you will find a what “You Can Forge Now” and what “You Should Look Fo”r section. Building up your Divinity Bracelet must be done in quality order, i.e. Dummy to Band to Ring, etc. But picking up ring quality for a level you can’t forge is advantageous because once you have a lower quality done you can continue forging up until you run into a ring from the set you are missing. Don’t expect higher level players to send you a majority of the rings you’ll need, but once you get down to those last pesky few that can take hours and hours of grinding to appear, it’s ok to ask.

Divinity Bracelet Armor Protection

At the Signet Ring quality level you’ll be able to start working on increasing the most important aspect of your divinity bracelet bonuses, armor protection. This aspect doesn’t appear in either of the helps found in the Element Ring Inventory room on Cafe Au Lait, because of its unique forging option. While the other bracelet bonuses use set combos that are None, Minor, and Everlasting attributes, the Armor bonus uses a streak of Maximal, Superior, Greater, and Extended. The good news is that any of the alignments can be used. An example of this for the Health Signet Ring quality could be an Ignis Maximal, Aqua Superior, Aero Greater, and Terra Extended to increase your armor protection by 1%. But an Ignis Superior, Aqua Extended, Aero Maximal, and a Terra Greater would also be a valid forge. Finding a combination of Alignment/Quality that you have is where the Element Ring Inventory becomes very useful.

Getting the rings

Every creature in Ringstead drops rings approximately 4% of the time, and what ring quality is mostly determined by creature type. I’ve done quite a bit of research to determine the tables above, getting 100 ring drops from each of the creatures to determine the percentages you see. They will help you target the creature and elite level so you'll increase the chances you’ll get the rings you’re looking for to improve your Divinity Bracelet.

Have fun grinding, and happy hunting!

Original Research

Gotten to by first going to Cafe Au Lait: Goblins Island, using the dock on the west side to enter Endless air

Note that there is a new food shop on the southern end of this island that has foods that restore 250k health/stamina/mana

Accept the quest to defeat Achilles if you haven't yet
travel to 7, 7, 1 then go up
This spot is a dock but to leave this room you first need to complete the quest to kill Achilles

After that is done, this zone consists of 3 floors with a mix of different creatures per floor

All creatures in this zone are some level of elite, but there is no kill to move spots
The weakest creatures drop the lowest level of rings and each creature you advance to increases to the next highest max quality ring.
The higher the elite level you fight, the better chance of a higher quality ring you have. That is if you fight a creature that can drop a max of Seal rings an elite version of that creature can drop you as low as a band and as high as a seal.
If you fight the grand master of that same creature though, it should only drop signit and seal qualities

Hint: Pick up ALL rings here not just ones you are interested in wearing. Many can be used for adding enchantments to your divinity bracelet. Even if they can't be used or you have duplicates, you can sell them for decent gold. Maybe to buy a ring you're missing from someone else? or some extra food? (the new stuff is a bit spendy)

Each of the 1st 8 creatures are aligned to a basic element and require certain resistance rings to help survive their attacks. These rings are setup similar to the astral rings but offer resistance to air, water, fire, and earth creatures instead of good, evil, and spirit.

the 2nd to highest creature is the spirit guard and is aligned to spirit so your spirit rings can help against him
The top creature is the Chieftain which has no alignment so you are stuck without any resistance

Floor 1:
The bottom row has the weakest creature (Fairy Guard aligned to air) only with different elite levels in each room
The side paths going between the bottom and top rows include creatures from higher floors so be very careful in these places since they are tougher and likely are aligned to different elements
The top row is similar to the bottom one, just with the next higher creature (Draconian Guard Fire Align)

2nd Floor:
Top row: Druid Guard - Earth align
Bottom row - Water Guard Water align

3rd floor:
This floor is different than the 1st 2.

Each row now has a mix of 2 different creatures that have different alignments

The top row contains the Holy Guard (air align) and the Ring Guard (Fire)

Moving to the middle row has the Spirit Guard (Spirit) and the Chieftain of the Guard (Neutral)
Finally, the bottom row has the Castle Guard (Earth) and the Evil Guard (Water)
