Making up one of the three Promised Islands, you will find the Dark Elves. They are located by going SW from the coordinates 24, 47, but actually having finished the corresponding Bottle Quests is also required to proceed into the area. The sea section does contain ship that you can combat, but at this point in your adventuring career, the reward isn't worth the effort or time.
As with the other race islands you are required to complete a series of fetch quests in order to completely explore the islands, including battling Elite and beyond level creatures. Once completed the island does provide an excellent location to farm selected pieces of elite versions of Aqua Shellplate and Illusionary armor.
The drop rate for these creatures isn't very high. I suggest you are able to 1 round them prior to trying to complete any of the quests.
The food dropped by the inhabitants of the Dark Elven Hideout, Fish&Vermin, allows a character to temporarily see in the dark for 2 minutes and can be stacked. i.e You can consume an unlimited number of them to allow you to see in the dark for as long as is needed. Of the three Promised Island food this food is probably the most useful, especially in places like the Hell Pit, or if you just need a few minutes to complete a task. Unlike the other two Promised Island foods, running out of the ability won't instantly kill you.
