Mining

This guide will continuously be a work in progress. I researched everything with a maxed out skill of 1000. Some items will need to have a certain level of mining to be able to be found in the below areas. If you can't find an item in the area listed, you may need to train your mining higher. If you do come across an more accurate number, feel free to update wiki or let me know.

Mining is a skill learned in the Dwarven Stronghold, and trained in the Spell Training Hut at Shillatown. It lets you mine in various different sections in Shilla, such as the Dwarven Stronghold, Ogre Cave, Dungeon of the Lost Souls, Hell Pit and Mount M.

Mining is needed for various things:

1. Residences may require some items to be mined.
2. Fighter quest requires some gems to be mined.
3. Various items are used in Forge Combos.
4. Gems can be used to enchant weapons.
5. End game quests use Dark Trinkets, which can be farmed through mining.

On to the sections:

Dwarven Village

Here is where you start to learn the skill. The mines really don't offer a whole lot here; You're going to want to look for the various mining gems the Fighter quest asks for. If you're not a fighter, look for Solid Rock for residence building. Black Pearl is a rare item used to make a Black Trunk, that can be found by going to the northern path, then down twice. Gold Pixie Dust is a rare item at any level, you will go 1 South from the Black Pearl spot to find it there. Both of these need a somewhat high level, believed to be 50 or higher.

Ogre Cave

Here are the Crystals; the crystals are used to forge Tier 21/22 weapon and also used to create Planks, which are needed in residence building for weapon, armor and jewelry storage. Nothing game breaking here. You will need to dig to enter the area, then switch out your shovel for the pickaxe.

Dungeon of the Lost Souls

Follow the map down to the very bottom level, then work your way down to the SE corner. Once you see a (NW,SE,NE) section near the end, follow the NE path through to the mine.

Level 8 in Lower Volcano

At Skill Level 125 normal mined items similar to Dwarven Stronghold appear.
At Skill Level 200 only Solid Rock and Iron Ore appear, with an occasional Red Crystal.

Hell Pit

Here is where you can get the Hell Flux and other gems needed for the higher level weapon enchantments.
To find this place you must go to hell pit, keep going down to the main seam level, then follow the NW path to the end.

Mount M

This place has all the crystals as well as the moonstone which is needed for the T33 weapon enchantments.
This spot is easy to find. Just make your way to the elite area on level 49, then follow the path S and SW until you reach the other side and can go down past the Boulder Hurler spot and you will get to the mine.

Mining is a skill learned in the Dwarven Stronghold, and trained in the Spell Training Hut at Shillatown. It lets you mine in the Dwarven Shafts. This is mainly used for the Fighter quest where you need to mine various gems to please the shop owners.

Also, you need this skill to forge various items, mainly with the use of a Black Pearl, and Gold Pixie Dust. Clicking the items will give you more detail on what to make with them.

A Mining level of 20 is sufficient to find anything that you are required to find. Higher level means the amount of each item found will increase also.

Now requires equipping a Mining Pick Axe that can be purchased from the weapon shop in the Dwarven Stronghold.

Gold Pixie Dust can be found by mining in the spot between the two shafts on the bottom level of the mine.
