Proficiencies are a newer thing in Shilla, and there are times you may need to train them up for whatever reason, here are some tips to work on them faster and/or more efficient.
Physical attacks/Magic Spells
- Training/Normal use - The easiest way to work on something. It'll naturally get higher as you use them to train.
- Mutant Blob(Cafe Au Lait) - This area gives 2x the proficiency levels, so attacking this will net you 2 points for every attack. Plus it auto heals since you aren't attacking it with the Duckie.
- Training Dummy - If you just need to wack something for a quest x amount of times, the dummy will get you there.
Protip: If you have a Bathroom buff in your Residences, you can use it for mana/fatigue regen, and then you can freely hit it for 5 minutes straight without having to heal(just pay attention to macro checks obviously).
Magic Buffs
They don't really do much for proficiency levels, but the best way to use them is to cast them repeatedly in town, and just healing with the fountain.
Elements
These only go up, if you are attacking with an element against an element you a weak against. For example, if you were Fire, attacking Water creatures makes it go up. Mages will have this naturally go up over time, since they only attack with an element. Melee classes would need to inbue a weapon with that element, which only makes sense as a Spirit align. Since Spirit align is strong against everything, that will never go up.
Skills
Mining, Cutting, Digging and Harvesting
These will just go up the more you use them. However, you can equip certain weapons/armor to help increase levels. Note that some areas need a combination of skill level, and proficiency level to be able to access them.
| Name | Location | Related Skill | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Digger Boots | Halfling Shire | Digging | +50% |
| Miner's Helm | Orc Outpost | Mining | +50% |
| Pickaxe of the Goblin | Goblin Cave | Mining | +50% |
| Divining Rod | Goblin Cave | Treasure Hunting | +125% |
| Lumberjack Leggins | Gnome Village | Woodcutting | 50% |
| Lumberjack Axe | Gnome Village | Woodcutting | 50% |
| Miner's Support Harness | Orc Outpost | Mining | 50% |
| Lost Bracelet | Whirlpool, Limbo Dragon | Mining, Woodcutting, Digging | 50% all |
You can also spend trophies at the trophy shop to buy "instructions", which increase prof. gain by 100% for a couple minutes.
Navigation, Maneuvering, Cannoneering
These are ship skills that increase as you use them. You'll need to raise them in the beginning for a couple quests, after that it doesn't matter too much.
Mixing, Cooking, Baking, Grilling
They don't really do much, so raising them doesn't matter. You can do the farm-land-quests once a week to raise them, however.
Precision, Camouflage, Protected Attack, Blood Lust
These are all Fighter/Thief skills that I have never used, so the assumption is 1 point per use, but that may need to be researched.
