Residences

Residences are a new addition to the current edition of Shilla. They can give the player some fun little perks and some of them can be very beneficial to your character, provided you take the time to work on building one.

Residences can be bought at the real estates office in Shilla Town.
From the fountain it is West x4, North, then East.

You have numerous different choices, and if you don't like a certain choice, the listings do reset often throughout the day.

The main 3 types of land you will build on will be: Sand, Clay and Rocks. Sand is the worst quality, Clay is middle, and Rocks will be your best bet for building a residence.

Here are some example listings:

For sale today:
468 acres, ground: Rocks, near forest, near mountains, near sea, with road access, town distance: 92 miles
- price: 4,435,236.00

2645 acres, ground: Rocks, town distance: 20 miles
- price: 20,988,075.00

849 acres, ground: Sand, near forest, near sea, with road access, town distance: 76 miles
- price: 3,243,604.00

3234 acres, ground: Sand, near sea, with road access, town distance: 68 miles
- price: 31,376,268.00

1913 acres, ground: Clay, near sea, town distance: 86 miles
- price: 10,978,707.00

If you see any listing with a nearby area, you can use the area to help build your items. They will reduce costs by 50%.
Mountains -> Solid Rock, Sea -> Sand, Forest -> Construction Wood.
The prices seem to be a little high per acre for these perks, so if you don't mind farming the materials yourself, you can just go for something near town and save some gold that way. Or at least in the beginning. Once you get further in the game and able to make more money, you can sell your starter house and land and build something better.

You can sell your land and there is a chance you can haggle it for more or less than what you paid for it. Not recommended to do to make money, but it is a possibility.

Now that we have picked a land type, what kind of house can we build?

Where do you find these materials? The list is below.
Note we listed the easiest way to find the materials. There are more than one way to get them, but we aren't going to list 7 locations for Solid Rock for example.

Solid Rock Mining Dwarven Stronghold 1/0
Iron Ore Mining Dwarven Stronghold 1/0

Types of Exterior Rooms:

Note you can only build in 3 directions. So out of the 4 rooms, you would have to pick 3.

Garden:

You can build a Troll Trampoline on it. A troll trampoline takes a random pixie dust(not gold though) and teleports you back to here. To return back to the original location you to pay the cost of a dropped item in the area. For example, if you teleported from the Beach, you would pay 1 crab leg to return back. If an area has no creature drops, you won't be able to go back.
This costs 13 Red Trunk and 12,000,000 gold, so this may take a while to obtain, but worth it in the long run.

Yard:

Can Build Troll Trampoline(see Garden), otherwise you can build a Silo.
Whatever the room size of the Yard is, the Silo can hold up to 8x that amount in Misc Items. So if you build the min at 100, it will be 800, if you build 1000 then it would be 8000. May be handy, may not be. No matter the room size, it only costs 2,500,000 gold and requires 10 Green Trunk. Might be useful for holding housing materials, but the other 3 choices are better.

Pool:

Can build Slide, which reduces the amount of time needed to switch guilds. Might not be useful until end game, when you are leaving and rejoining guilds to get enchantment bonuses attached to your weapons.
The cost however is cheap at 2,500,000 gold and 5 Green Trunk.

Monument:

This can reduce down the time between switching alignments to 12 hours from 24. Helpful if you are trying to trying to switch alignments for the Guardian Quests, or just want to pick something else that works better for you.
The cost is 2,500,000 gold and 8 Red Trunk.

Interior House:

To build a room, it takes 100% Construction Wood and Sand, 50% of Solid Rock. So if the size was 50, it's 50 Wood and Sand, 25 Solid Rock.
To build a hallway, it takes 50% Construction Wood, 25% Sand, and 100% Solid Rock. So if the size was 100, it's 50 Wood, 25 Sand, and 100 Solid Rock.

You'll need to build hallways to get to make extra rooms. Some higher level buildings can be built upwards if needed.

The rooms themselves:

Bathroom:

Base level is just like a fountain in other areas of the game. Restores Life, Mana and Fatigue.
At level 2, you gain the ability to have a +5% buff in those areas for 5 minutes.

Kitchen:

Required as a lot of other rooms need recipes from the kitchen. You can mix, grill, cook and bake items.
Cooking an item gives it a 25% mana boost, Grilling gives it a 25% life boost, baking gives it a 25% fatigue boost.
Mixing an item requires 3 different items, depending on which is the highest value will determine what type it is.
#1 would be Salad, #2 would be Juice, #3 would be Ragout. The healing values are all sorts of random, but mixing items is required in later recipes in residence building.

Living Room:

One of the rooms where you can log off and log back in over a period of time to get a temporary boost in Strength.
This can be upgraded 3 different times, each type will be explained in the table below along with the formula.

Guest Room:

One of the rooms where you can log off and log back in over a period of time to get a temporary boost in Charisma. This can be upgraded 3 different times, each type will be explained in the table below along with the formula.

Dorm:

One of the rooms where you can log off and log back in over a period of time to get a temporary boost in Intelligence. This can be upgraded 3 different times, each type will be explained in the table below along with the formula.

Fitness Room:

Gives a life boost that lasts for a few minutes. While this can be longer with a bigger size room, the smallest will go for 5 minutes. This can be upgraded 3 times, the type will be explained below. Helps a lot with fighting monsters above your current life, and can help get Fighter quests sooner.

Library:

Gives a mana boost that lasts for a few minutes. While this can be longer with a bigger size room, the smallest will go for 5 minutes. This can be upgraded 3 times, the type will be explained below. This is mainly used by Mages to get the required Mana for their quests.

Music Room:

Gives a mana boost that lasts for a few minutes. While this can be longer with a bigger size room, the smallest will go for 5 minutes. This can be upgraded 3 times, the type will be explained below. This is mainly used by Thieves to get the required Fatigue for their quests.

Pantry:

Place to store extra food. Size 40 is the minimum and that will hold 4000 pieces of food for you. Can be more if you wish, but 4000 food seems like a lot to me. I use it for kitchen recipes I created that I don't want to lose in a death, most other food in game is easy enough to come by.

Lab:

I like this the most, as it runs a battle simulation and determines your odds of 1-rounding a monster in the game.
Mages will benefit the most from this, as their small life pool makes them more at risk of death if they can't 1-round a monster. Every time you click consider it runs the simulation, so you may want to click it 100-200 times to get a more accurate result.

Armor Cabinet:

Place to store armor. Room size is 50 min which gives you 8 slots, higher number more things you can store. Can be upgraded further. Can be useful in later stages of game when you have lots of elite armor that you don't want to lose during death.

Weapon Storage:

Place to store Weapons. Room size is 20 min, higher number more things you can store. Can be upgraded further. Helpful when you get later in the game when weapon creation gets harder and rarer.

Jewelry Storage:

Really helpful to store Jewelry in. Room size is 100 min, higher means more things to store. There are lots of rare items of jewelry throughout the game that take time to find, create, or get and having storage here helps a lot. Can be upgradable.

The listings available are randomly generated and cost various amounts of gold for various sizes of land
You probably don't need a very big one at this point given what is currently available and/or what you intend on actually using but since your choice is currently permanent and who knows if other stuff gets added, keep that in mind I suppose?

Once you buy some land you are given the option of setting up 1 of several types of dwellings each requiring a minimum size and a different set of resources. Some options may not be available to you if your plot is too small. The more basic structures are limited in their size and/or number of rooms you can setup so if you want to use them all don't pick the most basic one but if you only need 1 or 2 you can get by for really cheap.

House Options:

Once you both bought land and built a dwelling, then you can then start creating rooms outside or inside your residence

Outside Rooms:

Room Type Things available to build
Garden Troll Trampoline
Yard Silo or Troll Trampoline
Course Monument
Pool Slide

Troll trampoline:

Lets you use a teleport back to your residence and later directly back to where you teleported from. Troll trampoline is a fixed size (70). This room costs 12,000,000 gold and 13 Red Trunk.

Note: It requires the source location to be somewhere that has drops and you need to pick one up before you use the back to house teleport location
Returning to that location is only available 1 time and costs an item that was dropped at that location and a pixie dust
So if you went home from say level 5 of the volcano after picking up a red hot chili peppers, you could do whatever in town, go back to your trampoline, then jump directly back to where you were in the volcano but if you then say went to the drac lair from there and did a town teleport, your trampoline would not let you jump back to the volcano the second time.

Silo:

Silo's capacity is based on the initial size of the yard but seems to require way more resources to construct than it can ever hold.A Silo requires 100 yard size minimum. This room costs 2,500,000 gold and 10 Green Trunk.

Monument:

A Monument saves you the time you need to wait before you can leave an alignment temple to 12 hours. A Monument is a fixed size (60) but requires a room size of 100. This room costs 2,500,000 gold. and 8 Red Trunk.

Slide:

12 hour reduction in guild timers for switching guilds
This room costs 2,500,000 gold and 5 Green Trunk.

Inside Rooms:

Indoor rooms can be rooms or hallways
hallways just lead to more rooms
Rooms can be set up for a specific function
Rooms are sized between 10 - 100

Indoor rooms initially cost a set of resources:
1 construction wood per size of room
1 sand per size of room
1 solid rock per every 2 size of room

as an example, a max room size of 100 would require you to collect:
100 construction wood
100 sand
50 solid rock

Additional info on some rooms:

Bathroom:

Pointless as it provides the same thing as what can be done at the fountain.

Kitchen:

no upgrades
Allows you to use the cooking, baking, grilling, and mixing skills - available for purchase at the skill shop in town and trainable at the skill trainer (for use in other rooms mostly?)

At skill level (500) cooking, baking, grilling, gives these bonus to food if they successfully cook. It takes 5 Minutes PER item you cook/bake/grill. (ex: 1 item = 5 minutes, 10 items = 50 Minutes). There is NO current way to cancel.

Cooking, Baking, Grilling, and Mixing DOES go off proficiency. SO, high proficiency usually increases the success rates

Cooking: Normal food amount for Heal (Life) and Stamina (Fat), 125% Mana amount recovered.
Baking: Normal food amount for Heal (Life) and (Mana), 125% Fat amount recovered.
Grilling: Normal food amount for (Mana) and Stamina (Fat), 125% Heal(Life) amount recovered.

Fitness room:

Upgrading the level of the room just costs different amounts of gold:
Upgrade from 0 - 1 5 million
Upgrade from 1 - 2 15 million

Base level (0) Gives a buff to increase your life to 6x its normal
To get the buff you need to exercise in the room by clicking the link and consuming a Red Wine Juice that you made in the kitchen
Red wine juice requires you to use red wine in the middle spot when mixing. And the other 2 ingredients lower tier foods?

At level 2 it increases your life to 16x its normal
At this level the food requirement is raw imp rague
This requires an insanely high mixing skill and raw imp as the 3rd ingredient. 1st 2 ingredients must be as basic as possible to have a chance

Pantry:

Minimum size of 40 (but higher gives more storage space)

Lab:

Example output:
If you attack the creature, you will survive this battle!
If you attack the creature, you will survive this battle!
It looks like melee combat with this Town Guard will probably slay it.
You think that the Town Guard is harmless if it is not an Elite creature.
