Update #5 - An older face, fresh energy. 2/21/22
Well said, my friend, well said….
Sometimes fate has a way of changing things, and I'm a firm believer that nothing happens for no reason. Karma must have sensed that I was drifting a bit and needed something to focus on, something old for a new purpose. IDK, but I'm pretty excited and this site has helped keep alive a game that was special and continues to be for many, many people. I like discovery, and I like creating, and there is plenty of both to be had in this revitalized game. After a few hours I've already found elements of Shilla that need written about, and am looking forward to figuring them out as I progress through a new to me game.
Props to BP and all of those that have done the hard work of getting a great game resurrected. I'm looking forward to playing again!.
Happy Hunting

Update #4 - Last Update
In 2008 Shilla died. I was grateful because I beat it and it released me from my personal hell of addiction.
In 2010 It was recreated, and I tried it, but ultimately walked away frustrated.
In 2019 here we are trying to recreate 2008, with 2010 coding, and I'm going to walk away from this.
I helped with this project because my mind has an infinite knowledge base, which probably rivals Alpha and Melkor. I also wanted to say, hey, I helped bring a thing I enjoyed back to life. I was never going to play, but the knowledge is fun.
To a point. The data entry is a grind. There's no validation that we are doing it worth it other than for our known inner nostalgia kicks and to say we did it. I've questioned with Blink and Kaesius why we are all going through with this. We're all adults, with adult things, school, work, families. What's the point? And the more I started digging into the past, the more depressing it really kind of got.
Why I'm stating that effective after this, I'm no longer an part of the project. It is a hard decision because on one hand, I feel like I'm the glue keeping this entire thing going. But I have to look out for myself. Also be realistic. Life and technology made this game the shit in the 90's. We are approaching 2020.
I hope it comes around just for those who want it to. I'm looking towards my future and I'll always remember this, which is why this site will stay up as long as it's free. I just can't be a part of it.
Thank you,
Bp
Update #3! 9/16/19
Unfortunately, going back to school means at times, I don't have time for this. I'm older now, so I am more mature and realize that priorities need to come first, and Shilla is not that. I have invited, and they have accepted the role as administrator, Kaesius. He is also known as Radagast, one of the older admins of Shilla.
I have told him he is in charge of updating the front page as he sees fit, and he will oversee the forums to make sure things are progressing in a timely matter.
I will find time some time to check up on this. Today is not the day.

Update #2! 9/14/19
We are making progress in trying to get the game up and running. We are editing lots of things, and trying our best to do what we can. We all have
lives as we are adults(in age only ;), who have lots of real life things to deal with.
As always, check us out at Discord below. We also are starting up a forum here to help us see where we are at, and if you are reading, gives you an idea what we are doing.
Thanks,
BP
UPDATE!!! 8/25/19
Over the last month, we have gotten the code for the reboot that was hosted at www.thedarktraveler.com from the 2011-2012 time frame. It was mostly coded but large sections of it have been missing which with a help of a friend who has lots of coding experience, we have been working on trying to make this Shilla something people can enjoy again.
How can I help, you may ask?
https://discord.gg/7KGAKYe - This is our Discord channel. We talk about everything we are doing, how we are doing, and what we need to do.
The person helping us out hosts it for a few hours a day while we actively work on trying to fix, recreate, and test things out. If you join, you can help be part of our test group and click away to remember the old times from long ago that you may have thought may be gone forever.
I'd like to stress we have no concrete idea on if or when we will get this game up entirely to the public, we'd have to make sure its 100% good to go, then figure out servers, costs and whatnot. But a higher demand would definitely help push us potentially ;)
-Note: This game when up and running will be a recreate of Old Shilla from 2009. We may work some of the features existing in this code somehow into it, but the intent is to bring it back to its ultimate glory days. :)
Thanks,
BP
